About us

Found in 1904, offering specialisations under different names till 1970, Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology was launched as an independent public technical institute in the year 1971. Being the largest government-funded, public tertiary education institute in New Zealand, it is a New Zealand Quality Assurance approved Category 1 and ISO 9001 certified education provider. Possessing the main campus in Nelson, NZ, the institute has 4 more campuses based in Blenheim, Marlborough, Woodbourne, and Richmond, offering more than 100 certificates, diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degree level international courses in arts, engineering, aquaculture, business, computing & information technology, social sciences, writing, tourism, and hospitality, language, fitness, foundation studies, maritime studies, viticulture, and a range of trade qualification courses, etc. The institute educates over 7500 students including 1700 international students, providing them with support on accommodation assistance, scholarships for international students, work placements, and post-graduation placement assistance.
